Meals on Wheels Program Needs You!

The 2012 Meals on Wheels Program and our beach community NEED YOU!

The Meals on Wheels Program is a collaborative effort of 11 beaches churches. Each church rotates every 11 weeks in delivering meals to shut-ins in the beaches areas. The meals are prepared by Urban Jax and delivered to the Jacksonville Beach Senior Center, located at 281 19th Avenue South (near Huguenot Park). The meals arrive around 10:00 a.m. Volunteers use their own cars and choose one of two routes:

North (mostly Atlantic Beach residents)
Central/South (mostly Neptune Beach and Jacksonville Beach residents)

Some volunteers choose to pair with another church member, and some prefer to deliver solo. The routes vary week-to-week, however, an average of 7-9 meals (or stops) are generally required. The delivery time is approximately 1 to 1 1/2 hours. Usually, volunteers are finished by noon time.

This ministry is an opportunity to aid those in need by brightening someone's day with a pleasant smile, kind word or deed. To volunteer your time, or if you have questions, please contact the church office.
